Last Light Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 October 2026
This policy explains what the game Last Light for Android and iPhone (app ID com.hitbones.lastlight) collects, why, who receives it and the choices you have.
Who we are
Last Light is made by Omar, an independent developer ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, write to hitbones@gmail.com.
What the game collects
Your game progress stays on your device. Your camp, survivors, resources and settings are saved on your phone, and we do not receive them. The game has no account or sign-in and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics (services of Google) collect:
- app interactions, such as screens opened, runs and nights played and other in-game events;
- in-app purchase events, such as which item was bought and its price;
- crash logs and related diagnostics when the game crashes or hits an error;
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language and app version;
- your approximate location (country, region or city), which Google works out from your IP address;
- an app-instance ID, a random identifier for this installation of the game.
Unity Ads (a service of Unity Technologies) collects, to show and measure the rewarded ads:
- your device's advertising ID and identifiers Unity gives this installation;
- your approximate location, which Unity works out from your IP address;
- device information and diagnostics, such as device model, operating system, network and ad loading times;
- ad interactions, such as which ads were shown, watched to the end or tapped, and how long you play, to measure the ads;
- your in-game purchase history, to measure and improve the ads.
In-app purchases are optional and paid through Google Play (or the App Store on iPhone), using Unity In-App Purchasing. Google or Apple handles your payment details; the game only receives the confirmation of what you bought (the product and its order or transaction number) so it can deliver the item.
Why we collect it
- To find and fix crashes and errors (Crashlytics).
- To understand how the game is played, so we can improve its balance and features (Analytics).
- To show the rewarded videos you choose to watch, give you their reward, measure the ads and prevent ad fraud (Unity Ads).
- To deliver the items you buy and restore a purchase you made before (in-app purchases).
We do not use this information to find out who you are, and we do not sell it.
Your choice
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the game asks, the first time it starts, whether Google Analytics for Firebase and Unity Ads may use your data for analytics and personalized ads. If you decline, you still get every ad reward and the ads are not personalized.
- Everywhere, you can change this at any time in the game: Settings > Privacy.
- Ads are optional: a rewarded video plays only when you choose to watch one.
- In your phone's settings you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization (on Android: Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads; on iPhone: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).
- Uninstalling the game stops all collection and deletes the progress saved on your device.
Who it is shared with
- Google runs Firebase and processes the analytics and crash data for us. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Unity Technologies runs Unity Ads and receives the ad data above to serve and measure ads, as described in the Unity Privacy Policy.
- Google Play and Apple process in-app payments under their own terms and privacy policies; Unity In-App Purchasing passes the purchase confirmation to the game.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
We do not share it with anyone else. Google and Unity may process this data in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards their policies describe (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Consent: analytics and personalized ads, when you accept in the game. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings > Privacy.
- Legitimate interests: crash reports, keeping the game working, preventing ad fraud and showing ads that are not personalized.
- Contract: delivering and restoring the items you buy.
Your rights
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, or ask for a copy of it; you can also complain to your data protection authority.
- California and other US states: you can ask what we collect and ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information for money; to opt out of your data being used for personalized ads, turn it off in Settings > Privacy or in your phone's ad settings.
- To make a request, email hitbones@gmail.com. Because the game has no accounts, include the date you installed the game and your phone model so we can find your installation's data. We answer within one month.
Children
Last Light is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has played the game and want their data deleted, email hitbones@gmail.com and we will delete what we can.
Retention
- Game progress: on your device until you uninstall the game or clear its data.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: event data is kept for the retention period set in the game's Analytics settings, at most 14 months.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days.
- Unity Ads: as described in Unity's privacy policy.
Security
Firebase and Unity Ads send data over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to the game's Firebase project is limited to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect this information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
